SiNAB will be attending Land Forces 2026 in Perth, Western Australia, from 6–8 October, joining defence, government and industry to discuss the capabilities shaping Australia’s future operating environment.
Although the Phoenix Mission System is an airborne mission system, its relevance extends well beyond the air domain. Contemporary operations increasingly depend on the ability to collect, share and act on information across air and land, particularly across mission areas such as Counter-UAS, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), targeting and tactical communications.
That connection to land operations has been part of the Phoenix Mission System from its early development. One of its initial applications was supporting Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) training, using airborne sensing, targeting and communications to support operators on the ground.
Today, through Phoenix 10 and Phoenix 5, that same mission system architecture can be applied across different aircraft classes and operational requirements, extending sensing and connectivity beyond the immediate operating area and supporting the movement of information between aircraft, sensors and personnel on the ground.
Australian capability with international application
Developed in Australia, the Phoenix Mission System is now being demonstrated and advanced alongside aircraft manufacturers, operators and specialist industry partners across Australia, Europe and the United States.
That international activity provides SiNAB with practical experience across different platforms, missions and operating environments, while retaining a strong Australian technology and development base.
Land Forces provides an opportunity to bring that experience into discussions here in Australia, particularly around how Australian-developed mission capability can integrate with existing and emerging systems, support evolving operational requirements and move from innovation into practical application.
